The St. Louis Blues defeated the Winnipeg Jets 1-0, with Joel Hofer making 24 saves for his third shutout of the season.
Justin Faulk scored the game’s only goal with 6:43 remaining in the second period on a feed from Robert Thomas. The goal marked Faulk’s eighth of the season.
Hofer earned the fifth shutout of his career in what was the first meeting between these teams since Winnipeg’s double-overtime victory on May 4 in Game 7 of their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series.
Connor Hellebuyck stopped 25 shots for the Jets, who’ve now lost five of their last six games.
The loss continued Winnipeg’s struggles when playing from behind. The Jets are 2-12-1 this season when allowing the first goal.
Jets center Jonathan Toews skated in his 1,100th career NHL game, becoming the 27th player in league history to reach that milestone. San Jose’s Jeff Skinner and Calgary’s Mikael Backlund hit the same mark Tuesday night.
St. Louis featured two players making debuts. Forward Otto Stenberg played his first NHL game after the Blues selected him 25th overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
Forward Jonatan Berggren also made his Blues debut after the team claimed him off waivers from Detroit on Tuesday.
