The Vancouver Canucks have given Evander Kane’s agent permission to help facilitate a trade, according to CHEK’s Rick Dhaliwal.
Kane has nine goals and 24 points in 51 games this season with his hometown Canucks.
He leads the team with 57 penalty minutes.
The 34-year-old forward carries a $5.125-million cap hit and is set to become a pending unrestricted free agent in July. Vancouver acquired Kane in June from the Edmonton Oilers for a fourth-round pick.
Kane missed the entire 2023-24 regular season with multiple injuries before returning for Edmonton’s playoff run. He recorded six goals and 12 points in 21 postseason contests for the Oilers.
The Canucks have already made significant roster moves this campaign.
The team previously traded star defenseman Quinn Hughes and forward Kiefer Sherwood during the season. Kane’s potential departure would mark another notable change to Vancouver’s lineup as they approach the trade deadline.
