Sam Reinhart received his first career game misconduct as the Florida Panthers defeated the Anaheim Ducks 3-0 Saturday.

The Panthers forward was ejected at 4:34 of the first period after a knee-on-knee collision with Ducks center Isac Lundestrom. Officials assessed Reinhart a five-minute major penalty.

Lundestrom required assistance leaving the ice and did not return to the game.

Reinhart, who has never faced NHL supplemental discipline in his 743-game career, entered the contest leading Florida with 51 points (27 goals, 24 assists) in 46 games.

The Panthers found scoring from other sources in Reinhart’s absence. Jesper Boqvist opened the scoring in the second period, while Anton Lundell and Gustav Forsling added third-period goals.

The Department of Player Safety will review the incident, as is standard procedure for game misconducts.
