The Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 7-2 on Tuesday night, with William Nylander and John Tavares each recording two goals and two assists in the victory.
Bobby McMann, David Kampf and Max Domi added goals for Toronto. Matthew Knies contributed two assists, while goaltender Anthony Stolarz stopped 17 shots.
Ryan Poehling and Sean Couturier scored for Philadelphia, which has now lost six consecutive games. Flyers goalie Samuel Ersson made 23 saves in the loss.
The game marked Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton’s first matchup against Philadelphia since being traded on March 7. Laughton spent over 12 seasons with the Flyers after they selected him 20th overall in the 2012 NHL draft.
Poehling gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead at 7:59 of the first period.
Tavares answered for Toronto 2½ minutes later, tying the game at 1-1.
Nylander put the Maple Leafs ahead with 4:49 remaining in the opening frame.
The Maple Leafs broke the game open in the second period, with McMann, Tavares and Nylander all scoring in the first 12 minutes to build a commanding 5-1 lead.

Nylander has now reached 40 goals for the third consecutive season, matching his career high.
The Flyers have struggled against Toronto recently, falling to 1-8-2 in their last 11 meetings. Philadelphia has lost all three matchups against the Maple Leafs this season.
McMann’s goal early in the second period proved to be a turning point. Nylander circled behind the net before finding McMann in the slot, where he converted the one-timer at 1:45. It was McMann’s 20th goal this season and sparked Toronto’s four-goal period.
Tavares has now scored in three straight games and extended his point streak to four games, during which he’s recorded five goals and four assists.
The Flyers return home to host Montreal on Thursday, beginning a three-game homestand. The Maple Leafs will travel to San Jose for their next game.
