Connor McDavid is back.

The Edmonton Oilers captain returned to the lineup Wednesday against the St. Louis Blues after missing eight games with a lower-body injury.

McDavid tallied three assists in the 4-3 victory, setting up Connor Brown’s game-winner with 21 seconds remaining in regulation.

The Oilers dressed only 17 skaters for the contest. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins didn’t play due to illness, and defenseman Jake Walman was a late scratch.

Edmonton went 4-4-0 while McDavid was sidelined. The team posted a 1-4-0 record in games both McDavid and Leon Draisaitl missed.

Draisaitl remains out with a lower-body injury but is expected to return before the playoffs.

The Oilers are also without Trent Frederic, Mattias Ekholm, and Stuart Skinner due to injuries.

McDavid, 27, has recorded 26 goals and 67 assists in 64 games this season.

His 93 points are tied for sixth in the NHL, despite missing 14 games due to injury.

The five-time Art Ross Trophy winner has been the the cornerstone of Edmonton’s offense since being selected first overall in the 2015 NHL Draft.
