Tampa Bay Lightning forward Oliver Bjorkstrand is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, head coach Jon Cooper announced Sunday, according to team reporter Gabby Shirley.
Cooper expressed hope that Bjorkstrand could return during the postseason.
The 29-year-old winger has recorded 21 goals and 46 points in 79 games this season.
Tampa Bay acquired Bjorkstrand at the March 5 trade deadline, where he’s contributed five goals and nine points in 18 games with the Lightning.
The trade sent forward Mikey Eyssimont, conditional first-round picks in 2026 and ’27, and a 2025 second-round pick to the Seattle Kraken in exchange for Bjorkstrand and forward Yanni Gourde.
Bjorkstrand’s most recent playoff appearance came last season with the Kraken, when he tallied four goals and eight points in 14 games during Seattle’s run.
The Lightning currently sit second in the Atlantic Division and appear headed toward a first-round matchup with their in-state rival, the Florida Panthers.
