The Tampa Bay Lightning extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-1 victory against the Seattle Kraken on Sunday night at Amalie Arena.

Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 36 shots as Tampa Bay improved to 6-0-1 in their last seven games.

After a scoreless first period, Brandon Hagel opened the scoring with his league-leading seventh short-handed goal at 9:27 of the second period. Hagel raced up ice, fended off Oliver Bjorkstrand and put a spinning backhander past Kraken goaltender Ales Stezka.

Nikita Kucherov and Luke Glendening scored 1:43 apart in the third period to give the Lightning a 3-0 lead.

Shane Wright scored his first goal of the season, tipping in a Brandon Montour shot at 15:24 of the third to cut the deficit to 3-1.

Nick Paul sealed the win with an empty-net goal.

Stezka, a 28-year-old rookie, made 19 saves in his NHL debut. He became the first goaltender to make an NHL debut with the Kraken franchise.

Special Teams Advantage

The Lightning recorded their 10th short-handed goal of the season, second-most in the league behind Florida (12).

Tampa Bay’s third-period insurance goal came off a set faceoff play when Brayden Point won the draw back to Kucherov, who fired a quick shot past Stezka at 11:15.

The Kraken fell to 0-9 in the second half of back-to-back games this season.

J.J. Moser returned to the Lightning lineup after missing 28 games with a lower-body injury.

With the victory, Tampa Bay improved to 7-0-1 all-time against Seattle.

Both teams return to action Tuesday. Seattle visits St. Louis, while Tampa Bay hosts Edmonton.
