The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired forward Scott Laughton plus fourth- and sixth-round picks from the Philadelphia Flyers for forward Nikita Grebenkin and a first-round pick, the teams announced Friday.
The Flyers are retaining 50% of Laughton’s $3-million cap hit.
Toronto’s outgoing first-round pick is in 2027 and top-10 protected, reports TSN’s Pierre LeBrun.
The Leafs don’t have a 2025 first-round pick but still own their 2026 selection.
Laughton has 11 goals and 27 points in 60 games this season. He’s won 49.6% of his faceoffs.
The 30-year-old center is under contract through the 2025-26 campaign at $3 million annually, though Toronto will only be responsible for half that amount.
The Oakville, Ontario, native collected a career-high 18 goals and 43 points in 2022-23.
Laughton has played his entire 661-game NHL career with the Flyers since being drafted 20th overall in 2012.
Grebenkin has yet to record a point in seven NHL games this season after making his debut with Toronto. The 21-year-old Russian forward has nine goals and 21 points in 39 contests with the Toronto Marlies in his first AHL campaign.
The Maple Leafs drafted Grebenkin 135th overall in 2022.
Following the trade, the Maple Leafs have $876,562 of cap space remaining, according to PuckPedia.
