The Seattle Kraken activated forward Yanni Gourde off injured reserve before Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Wild.
Gourde, 33, had been sidelined since Jan. 2 with a sports hernia that required surgery in late January. He missed 22 games while recovering from the procedure. When the team announced his surgery on Jan. 31, they provided a recovery timeline of five to seven weeks.
The veteran center has recorded 6 goals and 10 assists in 35 games this season.
Gourde is a pending unrestricted free agent and could be moved before Friday’s trade deadline.
He brings playoff experience to any potential suitor, having won two Stanley Cups with the Tampa Bay Lightning before joining Seattle.
