Connor Bedard recorded a goal and two assists as the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Detroit Red Wings 5-1.
The Blackhawks extended their winning streak to three games behind Bedard’s multi-point performance. Arvid Soderblom made 45 saves in net for Chicago.
Teuvo Teravainen, Tyler Bertuzzi and Oliver Moore also found the back of the net. Andre Burakovsky added an empty-net goal to seal the victory.
Bedard opened the scoring on the power play just 59 seconds into the game after Dylan Larkin was called for tripping.
The 19-year-old center now has three goals in his last three games. Artyom Levshunov contributed two assists, giving him four helpers in his last three contests.
Bertuzzi continues his hot streak with six goals over three games. He’s coming off a hat trick in the third period against the Canucks on Wednesday.
Larkin responded for Detroit at 4:19 of the first period. John Gibson stopped 15 shots in the losing effort.
The Red Wings have now dropped three straight games.
