The Dallas Stars are fielding trade calls for winger Jason Robertson, though they’re not actively shopping the 25-year-old, reports The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun.
Robertson is entering the final year of a contract that carries a $7.75 million cap hit. He’ll be a restricted free agent in 2026 and can become an unrestricted free agent in 2027.
Dallas will try to extend Robertson this summer if they consider his asking price reasonable.
If the financial demands are too high, the Stars may circle back to teams that have already reached out about his availability, LeBrun added.
Robertson recorded 35 goals and 45 assists in 82 games this season. He added six points in 11 playoff contests after missing the first round with an injury suffered in Dallas’ regular-season finale.
The winger has tallied at least 79 points in each of the last four campaigns.
He set career highs with 46 goals and 109 points in 2022-23.
Cap Space Constraints
The Stars have just $2.7 million in cap space this summer. They’ve already traded away Mason Marchment and extended veteran Matt Duchene.
Captain Jamie Benn and Mikael Granlund are among Dallas’ top remaining unrestricted free agents.
The limited financial flexibility could force difficult decisions about Robertson’s future with the organization.
