The San Jose Sharks signed veteran forward Jeff Skinner to a one-year contract worth $3 million, the club announced Friday.
Skinner recorded 16 goals and 13 assists in 72 games for the Edmonton Oilers during the 2024-25 regular season.
He contributed two points across five playoff games during Edmonton’s run to their second consecutive Stanley Cup Final.
The 33-year-old two-time All-Star has collected 699 career points (373 goals, 326 assists) over 1,078 NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes, Buffalo Sabres, and Oilers.
Skinner captured the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year in 2010-11. He posted a career-high 82 points with 35 goals for Buffalo in 2022-23.
The signing gives San Jose an experienced scorer as they continue their rebuild. Skinner brings playoff experience and veteran leadership to a young Sharks roster that’s looking to improve after missing the playoffs.
