NHL linesman Bryan Pancich exited Sunday night’s playoff game between Minnesota and Vegas after colliding with Golden Knights forward Brett Howden early in the second period.
The incident occurred 3:37 into the period during Game 1 of the first-round Western Conference series.
Frederick L’Ecuyer stepped in as the replacement official for the remainder of the game.
Howden was attempting to bat down a puck in the offensive zone when he appeared to make contact with Pancich’s head near the boards. After the collision, Howden briefly knelt beside Pancich to check on him before rejoining play as Minnesota pushed forward on offense.
