Kane first joined the Red Wings as a midseason free agent in 2023-24 after recovering from hip surgery. He collected 47 points in 50 games during his initial stint in Detroit.

The veteran forward was instrumental in Detroit’s fourth-ranked power play in 2024-25.

He recorded 29 points with the man advantage, tied for second on the team with Alex DeBrincat and trailing only Lucas Raymond.

The Red Wings continue building their roster around experienced players as they push for playoff contention.
