The New York Islanders signed forward Cole Eiserman to a three-year entry-level contract Wednesday, according to the team. The deal brings one of their most NHL-ready prospects into the organization for the coming years.
Eiserman’s contract starts next season and runs through 2028-29. He’ll report to Bridgeport in the American Hockey League on a tryout agreement for the remainder of this season.
The forward will compete for a roster spot with the Islanders at training camp in September.
Record-Setting Scorer
The Islanders selected Eiserman 20th overall in the 2024 draft. He’s the career goal-scoring leader at the U.S. National Team Development Program with 127 goals in 119 games.
His 193 points at the program rank second all-time. Only Jack Hughes recorded more points there before becoming the 2019 first overall pick and current first-line center for the New Jersey Devils.
Eiserman turns 20 on Aug. 29. He just completed his second college season at Boston University with 64 points in 71 NCAA games.
International Success
The Newburyport, Massachusetts native has won gold medals with Team USA at three levels. He’s captured championships at the under-20 world juniors, under-18, and under-17 world championships.
Eiserman’s signing follows Tuesday’s announcement that the Islanders signed defenseman Kashawn Aitcheson to his entry-level deal. Aitcheson, a 2025 first-round pick, becomes eligible for AHL play next season when he turns 20 on Sept. 21.
The moves show the Islanders’ commitment to developing their young talent through their AHL affiliate before potential NHL promotions.
