The Carolina Hurricanes will face the New Jersey Devils in the first confirmed matchup of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
New Jersey secured its playoff berth Wednesday when the New York Rangers lost in regulation to the Philadelphia Flyers.
While home-ice advantage remains undetermined, Carolina currently sits seven points ahead of New Jersey for second place in the Metropolitan Division.
The Washington Capitals have already clinched the division’s top spot.
This marks the second playoff meeting in three years between these teams. The Hurricanes defeated the Devils 4-1 in their 2023 second-round series.
