Calgary Flames lost a two-goal lead at home Saturday night, falling 3-2 in overtime to the Seattle Kraken.

“We pissed that one away,” defenseman MacKenzie Weegar told Postmedia’s Wes Gilbertson.

The single point in the standings didn’t console Weegar.

“I felt like, to even get one there, it doesn’t matter. There was two points there for us to take and we didn’t get it.”

Morgan Frost put Calgary ahead in the second period. Nazem Kadri made it 2-0 early in the third.

Seattle mounted its comeback with under seven minutes left. Shane Wright scored at 13:12, followed by Andre Burakovsky tying it at 15:19.

Matty Beniers ended it 2:58 into overtime.

Calgary controlled much of the game, outshooting Seattle 29-28 overall and 13-5 in the second period. The Kraken responded with a 12-7 shot advantage in the third.

The win snapped Seattle’s three-game losing streak. Calgary has now dropped three straight and four of its last five.

Both teams begin their break for the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, which runs through Feb. 20.
