The Winnipeg Jets extended their win streak to four games with a 4-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre Tuesday night.

Kyle Connor scored twice and Connor Hellebuyck stopped 24 shots to earn his NHL-leading 31st win this season.

Mark Scheifele added a goal while Rasmus Kupari sealed the win with an empty-netter. Gabriel Vilardi recorded two assists.

The Canadiens’ Juraj Slafkovsky opened the scoring at 11:03 of the first period, converting a feed from Nick Suzuki from behind the net.

Connor tied it at 15:36 of the first before Scheifele put the Jets ahead 2-1 in the second period.

With just two seconds left in the middle frame, Connor struck again from the slot to extend Winnipeg’s lead to 3-1.

Sam Montembeault made 20 saves for Montreal, who’ve now dropped three straight after winning 10 of their previous 13 games.

Connor and Scheifele both reached 29 goals, tied for second-most in the NHL this season.

Montreal’s penalty kill contained Winnipeg’s league-best power play, holding them scoreless on three opportunities. The Jets entered the game converting 33.3% of their chances with the man advantage.

The Canadiens lost defenseman Kaiden Guhle to a leg injury in the third period after an awkward collision with the boards. He did not return.

The Jets continue their three-game road trip Thursday against the Boston Bruins, while Montreal hosts the Minnesota Wild to finish their three-game homestand.
