Brad Treliving confirmed the Toronto Maple Leafs are working on a contract extension with goaltender Anthony Stolarz.

“We’ve certainly explored some things with Anthony and his representative, and we’d love to find a way to get something done,” Treliving told The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun on Tuesday.

“If there’s something that both sides are comfortable with, we’ll look at it. And we’ve been in those discussions for some time right now. We’ll see what the coming days bring.”

Stolarz is entering the final year of his two-year, $5-million deal he signed with Toronto in 2024. The 31-year-old can sign an extension at any point.

The netminder had a breakout season in his first year with the Maple Leafs.

Stolarz posted a 21-8-3 record with four shutouts and a .926 save percentage. He also recorded 31.2 goals saved above expected.

His 34 starts were a career high. Stolarz emerged as Toronto’s number one goalie ahead of Joseph Woll during the season.

He missed time during the regular season after knee surgery. Stolarz was also injured in the second round of the playoffs following a collision with Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett.

The Maple Leafs are projected to have approximately $24.8 million in cap space for the 2026-27 season, according to PuckPedia.

Stolarz is Toronto’s most prominent player entering the upcoming season on an expiring contract.
