The St. Louis Blues scratched forward Jordan Kyrou from Thursday’s lineup against the Buffalo Sabres, according to team officials.

The decision comes as the Blues struggle through their worst stretch of the season. St. Louis has managed just two wins in their past 10 games.

The team is coming off a 6-1 loss to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday.

Kyrou earns $8.125 million per season, making him tied with Robert Thomas as the highest-paid player on the roster. The 27-year-old forward hasn’t recorded a point in four games and carries a minus-8 rating through 14 contests this season.

His current drought follows an eight-game point streak earlier in the campaign.

Last season, Kyrou led St. Louis with 36 goals and finished second on the team with 70 points. The production made him one of the Blues’ most consistent offensive threats.

Trade speculation surrounded Kyrou during the summer months. The Montreal Canadiens were reportedly among the teams expressing interest in acquiring the forward.

However, Kyrou’s no-move clause became active on July 1st. The clause remains in effect through the remainder of his contract, which runs through 2030.

The Blues entered Thursday’s game looking to snap their recent slide and get key players like Kyrou back on track offensively.
