Paul Maurice moved into third place on the NHL’s all-time coaching wins list with his 915th career victory Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings.
The Florida Panthers head coach passed Barry Trotz to claim sole possession of the third spot.
Only Joel Quenneville and Hall of Famer Scotty Bowman have more wins than Maurice.

Maurice started his NHL coaching career with the Hartford Whalers in the 1995-96 season when he was just 28 years old.
The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, native has coached four NHL teams throughout his career.
After his time with the Whalers, Maurice had two stints with the Carolina Hurricanes. He also coached the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets before joining the Panthers.
The 58-year-old holds another NHL record, though less celebrated. He ranks first all time with 765 career losses.
Maurice also sits second all time in games coached with 1,928, trailing only Bowman’s 2,141.
His career reached its peak when he won his first Stanley Cup with the Panthers in 2024.
