The Edmonton Oilers acquired goaltender Connor Ingram from Utah Hockey Club for future considerations, the teams announced Wednesday.

Ingram recently cleared waivers unclaimed and will report to AHL Bakersfield. He’s under contract through this season and becomes a pending unrestricted free agent in 2026.

Utah is retaining $800,000 of Ingram’s $1.95-million cap hit.

The 28-year-old appeared in 22 games for Utah last season, posting an .882 save percentage. Ingram entered the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program in March and was reinstated in August.

Ingram put up solid numbers during the two previous campaigns. He posted a .907 save percentage across 77 starts before Arizona relocated to Salt Lake City.

He started a career-high 50 games in 2023-24 and led the league with six shutouts.

Goaltending became a major storyline in Edmonton over the offseason. General manager Stan Bowman decided to stick with the Stuart SkinnerCalvin Pickard tandem despite questions about consistency.

The duo has backstopped Edmonton to back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances. But neither has emerged as a reliable starter.

Skinner won 26 of 50 starts last season with a .896 save percentage. He posted an .889 save percentage in the playoffs and lost his starting job to Pickard two games into the opening round before reclaiming it in Round 2.

The Oilers open their season Oct. 8 against the Calgary Flames.

Edmonton faces immense pressure to perform this season as captain Connor McDavid enters the final year of his contract.
