The NHL is expected to review Max Domi’s hit on Aleksander Barkov that occurred in the final seconds of Sunday’s Game 4, according to Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice.

“I think the league looks at those things,” Maurice said after the game, according to Colby Guy of The Palm Beach Post. “Especially at that point of the game, and they’ll do their job.”

The incident happened with just seconds remaining in Florida’s 2-0 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs when Domi hit Barkov from behind, sending the Panthers captain into the boards.

Panthers teammates Eetu Luostarinen and Aaron Ekblad immediately rushed to defend Barkov, confronting Domi with six seconds left on the clock.

Matthew Tkachuk also got involved from the bench, exchanging words with William Nylander and other Maple Leafs players.

Both Domi, 30, and Barkov, 29, left the ice without showing signs of injury.

“Yeah, I think he’ll be alright,” Maurice said of Barkov, according to Guy.

The Panthers tied the series 2-2 with the shutout win and outshot Toronto 37-21. After dropping the first two games in Toronto, Florida won both games on home ice.

Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday at Scotiabank Arena.
