The Utah Mammoth announced Thursday that prospect Caleb Desnoyers will miss approximately 12 weeks after undergoing wrist surgery.

The timeline would sideline the center until early November. Utah opens its season Oct. 9.

Desnoyers’ junior team, the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats, begins play Sept. 18. He’ll miss the start of their season as well.

High Draft Pick Recovery

The Mammoth selected the 6-foot-2 center with the No. 4 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Desnoyers posted 35 goals and 49 assists in 56 games with Moncton last season. The two-way forward added 30 points in 19 playoff appearances.

He reportedly played through injuries to both wrists during the postseason.

World Junior Implications

Desnoyers remains a favorite to crack Canada’s roster for the 2026 World Junior Championship if he’s not in the NHL. The tournament begins Dec. 26, 2025.

The recovery timeline should have him healthy well before the tournament selection process begins.
