The Los Angeles Kings announced Saturday that forward Corey Perry underwent successful knee surgery and will miss six-to-eight weeks.
Perry suffered the injury during a training skate Friday.
The Kings signed the 40-year-old to a bonus-laden one-year contract July 1. Perry’s deal includes a $2-million base salary with performance bonuses that could push the total value to $4 million.

The forward is coming off a productive season with the Edmonton Oilers. Perry recorded 19 goals and 30 points in 81 regular season games.
