Macklin Celebrini delivered a four-point performance Wednesday, leading the San Jose Sharks to a 4-3 comeback victory over the Anaheim Ducks.
The 19-year-old center scored the equalizer with 1:39 remaining in regulation. He then assisted on Alexander Wennberg’s game-winner just over a minute later.

Celebrini’s game-tying goal was his 40th of the season. That makes him the 10th teenager in NHL history to reach 40 goals.
The rookie center now has 105 points this season. That’s the second-most in Sharks franchise history behind Joe Thornton’s 114 points in 2006-07.
Erik Karlsson previously held the second spot with 101 points in 2022-23.
The victory keeps San Jose’s playoff hopes alive. The Sharks now sit just one point behind the Los Angeles Kings for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
Celebrini has been carrying the Sharks’ offense throughout his first NHL season. The first overall pick from the 2024 draft has exceeded expectations in his rookie campaign.
San Jose entered Wednesday’s game trailing 3-1 before mounting their late comeback. The win gives them momentum as they push for their first playoff appearance since 2019.
