The Washington Capitals lost forward Tom Wilson to injury during Saturday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks after he collided with defenseman Connor Murphy in the first period.
Wilson grabbed his right leg after hitting the ice. Team trainers helped him off and he didn’t return to the game.
The Blackhawks won 3-2 in a shootout.

Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery said he doesn’t think Wilson’s injury is “too bad” but the forward will undergo further evaluation Sunday, according to Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.
Wilson leads Washington with 22 goals and 42 points in 40 games this season.
He was named to Canada’s Olympic team Wednesday.
