The Colorado Avalanche re-signed forward Joel Kiviranta to a one-year contract worth $1.25 million, the team announced Friday.
The deal leaves Colorado with approximately $2.09 million in remaining cap space, according to PuckPedia.
Kiviranta had been an unrestricted free agent since July 1. The 29-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Avalanche after joining the organization.
He recorded 23 points in 79 games during the 2024-25 season.
Kiviranta didn’t register a point in Colorado’s first-round playoff loss to the Dallas Stars. The signing gives the Avalanche depth heading into the upcoming season.
The forward’s return provides continuity for a team looking to bounce back from their early playoff exit.
